SUPPORT4AUTISM PROJECT

SUPPORT4AUTISM
There are no government facilities for children with autism or other learning difficulties on the islands of Samui and Phangan!
Children with even mild behavioral problems are excluded from mainstream schools since the school system is already under-resourced and stretched to capacity.
ROTARY SPONSORED ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT4AUTISM
Support for The Learning Centre for Magical Autistic Children
Rotary raises funds for two support staff who work tirelessly for the benefit of the children. We also help with running costs and essential items like furniture, fans, learning materials etc. The learning centre provides one hot cooked meal at lunchtime and for most children this is the first and only cooked meal of the day. Rotary provides funds and supplies to make this possible.
Swimming Pool Sessions
We are lucky in having procured the use of a suitable swimming pool (shallow depth throughout). Under the guidance of a professional swimming coach and the watchful eyes of Rotary members and others helpers the children have one morning a week to learn to swim – plus splash, jump and scream like “normal” children Currently this activity is one morning once a week.
PLEASE HELP US WITH A DONATION
Your donation however small WILL make a big difference to the lives of autistic and special needs children on Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Please see our How to Donate page for Rotary Samui-Phangan bank details. Cash donations are also welcome of course and visitors are welcome to visit the learning center with a prior appointment.
How your donation can help
Be A Support Staff Sponsor
Be our Lunch Lady
(or Man 🙂 )
5,000 THB covers the cost for one month of a fresh home cooked healthy lunch for all the children. These are low income families hit hard by the economic shutdown caused by Covid. For many it’s the child’s main meal of the day.
Be a Magical Sponsor of Magical Autistic Children
15,000 THB covers all running costs for one month for this beautiful safe space. Come and visit to see for yourself.
