PAST PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

As a Thai National and Resident of Koh Samui for 20 years, I am honoured to be the Charter President for the newly formed Rotary Club of Samui-Phangan.

We received our official Charter from Rotary International on the 14th September, 2018 and our intention is to use the power of our Club, Rotary Thailand and Rotary International to provide support and benefit to our local community on Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

As is the case in most communities around the world, there are some areas on our islands where the poorer communities need help and support to improve the standard of living as well as assistance to these local communities to improve health care, hygiene and education or to provide fresh drinking water.

Rotary provides the opportunity for people, both Thai and Foreigners, with differing expertise to network and form powerful teams, working together on meaningful service projects to bring direct benefits to our local communities.

As a newly formed startup club, I am looking forward to welcoming more like minded people with the same willingness and similar goals to join our club and together we can make a difference, not only to our local communities, but perhaps by example, we can make a difference on a much bigger scale.

With our strong commitment, I believe that together we will create a great impact on the communities that we support.

Warunee Sarika was born in Bangkok, educated in Switzerland, then worked in Hospitality with the Accor International Hotel Chain before moving to Koh Samui where she has resided for 20 years and is a prominent high end Property Developer and Project Manager.
